Use of third-party marks of conformity

A third-party mark of conformity is a protection mark issued by an organization conducting conformity assessment, indicating that the subject of conformity assessment meets certain requirements. These protection marks are legally protected against unauthorized use and specified requirements can be specified in normative documents such as regulations, standards, and technical specifications. In addition, the use of third-party marks of conformity must meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17030 (General requirements for third-party marks of conformity).

ISO/IEC 17030

ISO/IEC 17030 is an international standard that stipulates general requirements for third-party marks of conformity and was first established in 2003 by the ISO Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO). As revised to ISO/IEC 17030:2021, it is applicable to third-party marks of conformity issued and used in different forms and various media, including digital representation employing electronically stored and displayed marks, machine readable code, blockchain or other electronic means.
